Artist Tom Judd has created a compelling workshop that deals with collage and assemblage as a way of thinking and making artwork. It will take place in his studio in Philadelphia.
The Workshop will include:
1.) A presentation about the history of collage in modern and contemporary art with historic examples and how it has been used in the past.
2.) A hands-on session where participants will be creating their own artwork and in that way, their own stories through this long practiced technique of collage. Basic supplies will be provided but participants will be asked to bring their own photographs, postcards, books, and other printed materials to use in their collages.
3.) A follow up conversation where participants can talk about the experience and what they discovered, creating a context that can be applied to future projects.
