Forney says “Through the intimacy of oil portraits, the project uncovers the identities of the participants in a way that does not come across in the media coverage. The paintings record a populist social movement, in the tradition of the WPA artists who documented the ravages of the Great Depression in the 30s. The portraits and transcriptions will be presented on the internet, through art and gallery exhibitions, and published in an art catalog. Help fund his project through Kickstarter. Your donations to The Faces of Occupy Philadelphia, will be used to acquiring materials (supplies and frames), creating and publication of the art catalog, publicity, and gallery rental.
