Artist Statement

No place is boring, if you’ve had a good night’s sleep and have a pocket full of unexposed film. — Robert Adams

The motivation for my photography is an urge to explain and open a dialogue for whoever views it. Most of my work has a biographical feel to it, bordering on documentary side, yet with the intention that I try to show the viewer the humility of the place or person being photographed. The Polaroids are photographs that are “orphans” or that they weren’t created for a particular body of work, but they consist of pieces of my every day life and surroundings since 2002. Through out the years I’ve been using the immediacy and the instant quality of polaroids as notes or ideas that I keep in a sketch book. Until recently I had enough to put together a series that has a similar feel and look to it.
