Film, photography, drawing, painting and experimentation with all are the ways I approach making art. My collages are made of found images, often with my photographs combined with paint, graphite pencil, pastels and many other mediums. In my work I start with edges and lines that move and weave their way through the work, finding their place in the context of the composition and its borders almost subconsciously. The organic connections between one shape and another are something of a puzzle that works out with exploration and experimentation. I think of it as a creative stream of consciousness, where I am building and creating a different kind of tension and structure, space and sensibility. The ambiguity of space and perspective are elements I use in much of my work in order to create images that immerse the viewer in the compositional relationships of the pieces, but wholly defined by his or her point of view.
Observation and exploration are my first passions and tools to unearth sources of inspiration for my photography and filmmaking. I am only just beginning filmmaking and plan to combine elements of all in the future and will experiment with new techniques and approaches to continue a path to discoveries and capturing the visual moment. I am especially intrigued with the abstract and surreal elements of life that are mysterious and can lead to interesting compositions and blending the layers of life.
