Art for the Cash Poor 2016

June 3–5, 2016

Thank You!

THANK YOU to all our artists, vendors, volunteers, staff, sponsors, and friends who attended Art for the Cash Poor 2016 and made this event a HUGE success!

Check out The Lightning Strike’s coverage of the weekend.

Also, check out our talented volunteer photographers Lynda Cesar and Crystal Davis-Roth, who covered our kickoff event.

About Art for the Cash Poor:
Now in its 17th year, InLiquid is pleased to present our annual summer art sale: Art for the Cash Poor 2016 on June 3 until June 5 at Crane Arts located at 1400 N. American Street. Based on the premise that everyone can be an art collector, AFTCP is one of the longest running art festivals in the Kensington/Fishtown area. The best part: all works, by both emerging and established artists alike, are priced at $199 and under. This is a one-of-a-kind event where first-time collectors can speak with artists firsthand about their process, inspiration, and above all: find their niche within the arts scene.

InLiquid relishes in our efforts to make sure all our attendees’ senses are delightfully whetted. An entire weekend with art ranging from jewelry, paintings, photography, fashion, and ceramic ware, combined with live outdoor musical performances, culinary curiosities, and a beer garden; AFTCP 2016 is more than just an art fair.

Guests to AFTCP 2016 begin their journey indoors, in the Grey Area and Icebox Project Space. With artists on-site to explain their work, guests are free to learn about the artistic process by engaging in a relaxed dialogue with vendors. In the courtyard, guests will indulge in Philadelphia Brewing Company and a variety of savory and sweet food trucks, like Kung Fu Hoagies, Weckerly’s Ice Cream, and Foolish Waffles.

Outside in our garden area, our art exhibit continues with more vendors sharing and selling their craft. We also have a full schedule set for local band performances. Be prepared for non-stop dancing and picnicking. This year’s lineup includes Kitty Rotten, Clarksville, I Think Like Midnight, The Dean Maola Trio, Spelling Reform, Mike Simons, and Disco Hootenanny.

The Kickoff Party

Friday June 3, 5:30–9pm

Friday night’s ticketed Kickoff Party served as a meet-and-greet with the artists and a fundraiser for AIDS Fund, which supports HIV/AIDS education, prevention, and services in the Philadelphia area. Each year the Kickoff Party offers guests an exclusive sneak-peek at the festivities to follow. Attendees at the kickoff event are given opportunity to purchase work from a selection of the participating artists, while enjoying food and light entertainment.

This year we were happy to announce Christopher Bartlett & Hannah Zellman as our Honorary Co-Chairs. Christopher Bartlett is the Executive Director of The William Way Community Center and a strong supporter of LGBT communities, the arts, HIV research and education efforts, and community building. Hannah Zellman is the Program Director for Institute for Community Justice at Philadelphia FIGHT and an activist at the intersection of HIV & mass imprisonment.

Proceeds from the Event were split 50/50 with the Aids Fund. Find out more about our partner at aidsfundphilly.org.
