How Do I Look?
Shifting Representations of Queer Identities

Chief Curator at the Independence Seaport Museum
Presented in partnership with Casa De Duende
January 18th-29th

Opening reception: Wednesday, January 18th, 6-8pm
Open gallery hours: Wednesdays 6-8p, Saturdays + Sundays 1-5pm

This juried exhibition asks important questions at the center of contemporary queer life, examining one hundred and seventeen years of LGBTQ public representation to illuminate a community’s commitment to liberation, resistance, and to the struggle for normalcy, and acceptability, asking central questions about where we have been, where we are now, and where we are headed. Work submitted must address personal, private, and public perceptions of the queer self and may also reflect on how these have historically changed over time.

Deadline for submissions is January 7th, 2017, at midnight.

Application fee: $20 for DVAA members, $30 for non-members
