Call for Artists – The African American Museum

Deadline October 7: We believe that artists play a pivotal role in giving expression to social justice issues and promoting cross cultural dialogue. We are seeking artwork that addresses the killing of unarmed African American men, women and children by police. Works selected will be displayed as part of the exhibit Outcry! during the 14th Annual First Person Arts Festival in November 2015. Only digital proposals will be accepted. All proposals must be sent to exhibitions@aampmuseum.org by October 7, 2015 and should include: An artist statement of no more than 500 words, Last name of artist and title of work on all images (a maximum of 10 pieces can be submitted with no more than 3 images per piece) and the dimensions, weight, and display requirements for all pieces submitted.
