Deadline February 26: The Passyunk Square Civic Association is currently accepting submissions for its 5th Annual Art Auction, to be held on Friday, April 1st. If you are interested in showcasing your work alongside other top artists in South Philly, then this is the event for you! We accept submissions in all media, from paintings to sculpture to woodwork to glassblowing work to photography and mixed media. Our only stipulation is that you must identify as a South Philly artist.
Our submission period is open now through Friday, February 26, and our application process is simple: if you are interested, we ask that you send a photo and description of the piece for auction to email@example.com. Artists will be notified of the status of their submission by early March.
This event has grown in size each year since its inception. We are hoping to make our 5th anniversary celebration the biggest yet! All artists will be listed on our event website and many will be spotlighted through our organization’s Facebook page (followed by nearly 2,000 people) and Twitter account (followed by nearly 5,000 people).
In addition to promotion by our organization, all artists who donate their works for our auction are welcomed to sell another piece of art at the event at a set price, with 25% of the proceeds as a donation to the civic association.
We offer our artists free admission to the event itself, which will feature live music and offer complimentary food and libations donated by some of the area’s most delicious restaurants. We welcome our artists to bring their business cards to the event and converse with the attendees about their work. This event is truly an event about the artists and the vibrant arts culture that flourishes throughout South Philly, and 100% of the proceeds of your donations go to support the work of the Passyunk Square Civic Association.
The Passyunk Square Civic Association is a dedicated group of neighbors helping neighbors. A 100% volunteer-led and self-funded organization, our mission is to enhance the quality of life in the neighborhood, preserve the neighborhood’s unique historic character, and promote a cohesive community of residents, businesses, and institutions.
