AWARDS: $2,500 Peter Urban Legacy Award, $1,000 Arthur Griffin Legacy Award, $500 Griffin Award, and Honorable Mentions.
ELIGIBILITY: Entrants must be members of the Griffin Museum of Photography (with an expiration after 4/1/2015.) The Griffin Museum invites photographers working in all mediums, styles and schools of thought to participate. Experimental and mixed techniques are welcome. We encourage submitting images from a singular, unified body of work for a cohesive selection for the Juried Exhibition. Artwork selected for gallery exhibition will be limited to a maximum framed size of 30x40in.
JUROR: Jim Casper
Jim started LensCulture in 2004 to explore the diverse ways photography is used in the arts, media and daily life in cultures around the world. Since then, LensCulture has grown to be regarded as a highly valuable, engaging and inspiring resource for photographers, students and art lovers. In 2010, Jim teamed up with international partners to launch the annual LensCulture FotoFest Paris portfolio reviews, which bring together participants from over 45 countries each November. Prior to Lens Culture, Jim served as founder and president of Casper Design Group for 20 years, an international branding and corporate communications design firm based in Berkeley, CA. He currently lives in Paris.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION & PETER URBAN: The 21st Annual Juried Exhibition at the Griffin Museum will be named in honor of Peter Urban, a celebrated, Boston-based photographer who passed away in 2009 after a long battle with cancer. Urban was renowned for his success in both the commercial and artistic realm.
Alongside the juried exhibition, the Arts and Business Council is organizing a series of professional development workshops presented by a diverse range of thought leaders. These workshops will share instrumental ideas, methods and tools to help build the business and legal foundation of a thriving artistic practice.
HANDLING FEE: The handling fee is $18 for 5 images.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: March 31, 2015
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be a member of the Griffin Museum of Photography.
• Upload 5 images, 8 images can be submitted for members at the dual level ($75) or above.

IMAGE UPLOAD GUIDELINES:
a) All layers must be flattened.
b) Images must be sized to 1280 pixels long on the longest side. Avoid making images
smaller than 1280.
c) Image resolution is 72 pixels per inch to match native screen resolution. The images
will be viewed on a monitor.
d) Image color profile must be in RGB (We recommend Adobe 1998) or Grayscale.
e) Files must be 8 bit, which is a normal default setting.
f) Save images as a .jpg using the highest quality that keeps the file size under 1MB.
Do not include special characters in the name. Letters, numbers and _ (underscores) are okay.
g) An image title is required upon upload. The description box is for an artist statement
or important information regarding the medium.
h) FILE NAMING IS AS FOLLOWS: lastname_firstinitial_imagenumber.jpg
For example griffin_arthur_2.jpg DO NOT USE SYMBOLS OR SPACES IN THE FILE NAME
ACCEPTANCE NOTIFICATION:
Selected artists will be posted on the website by May 28, 2015. Please
do not call the Griffin Museum to inquire whether your images were chosen.
