Deadline April 13: Show runs May 2nd through June 4th, 2016; reception June 4th, 6-8 p.m. The Exchange Gallery in Bloomsburg has made an international call for artists to connect with one another through the exchange of personal postcards. Inspired by the Griffin and Sabine books, this exhibition welcomes artists of all ages, abilities, and experiences to share their individual personalities and to connect to other creative souls. We accept all media, with the only limitation that every entered piece must be able to go through the mail at the international U.S. postcard rate ($1.20). This means that each piece must fit within the Postal Service’s guidelines: 3-1/2” minimum/4-1/4” maximum for height, 5-1/2” minimum/6” maximum for length, 0.007” minimum/0.016” maximum for thickness.
At the conclusion of the show, after the reception, we will mail all of the postcards out: Every artist will receive another artist’s work. Our intent by asking for an artist’s ages on the application is to connect artists with other artists within the same approximate age group. If an artist does not include a birth year, that artist will receive work from another who did not include a birth year.
We will print each artist’s address on the card’s exhibition label so visitors may contact artists directly.
Due dates: International entries postmarked by midnight, April 13, 2016; United States entries postmarked by midnight, April 20, 2016. The
exhibition will open on May 2nd and conclude with a reception on June 4th, 2016, 6-8 p.m. at the Exchange Gallery, 24 East Main Street, Bloomsburg.
