Call for Submissions – PAFA ALUMNI GALLERY

Deadline October 23: Now accepting submissions for the 4th Annual Alumni Juried Exhibition, WORKS ON PAPER. Participation is open to artists residing in the United States and who have completed at least 1 year in the Certificate Program, BFA Program, Post Bac, or MFA at PAFA. No CE student entries accepted. Entries must be original work recently executed, and not previously exhibited in the Alumni Gallery. No work over 24”(including the frame)in either direction will be accepted. Works submitted must be available November 20, 2015- Feb. 7, 2016.This show provides a unique opportunity for the PAFA visitors to buy work by PAFA graduates at an affordable price.

Artists must have attended the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts as part of the Certificate, Post-Baccalaureate, Bachelor of Fine Arts or Master of Fine Arts programs for at least one year.
There is no entry fee.

Terms of Agreement:
Submission of work to the exhibition will constitute an agreement to comply with all rules, conditions, and requirements listed on this form. The Academy reserves the right to reject any work. No substitutions are permitted. All work must be ready-to-hang/display with d-rings on back of frames, approximately 2 inches below top, and be professionally presented. The Academy reserves the right to reproduce images for publicity and educational purposes only. All artwork must be for sale. The Academy will collect a 40% commission on all artwork sold, which will be contributed to the Alumni Annual Fund of the Academy.
All artwork selected for inclusion in PAFA Alumni Gallery exhibitions will be subject to the conditions detailed in the PAFA Alumni Gallery Consignment Agreement, which will be supplied upon selection of artwork.

Image Submission Guidelines:
• Artists may submit up to five works on CD ONLY (no slides will be
accepted) in standard JPG form. Each JPG should be no larger than
800×800 resolution and 300 dpi.
• Submit one (1) JPG for each submission.
• Clearly write on the CD label: artist’s name
• Images and/or Entry Forms submitted via email will NOT be accepted.
• CDs will not be returned.
Image files should include: artist’s last name (underscore) first name, followed by the entry number as noted on the entry form (i.e. Jones_Mike_1.jpg).
Images must be oriented properly (i.e. top of image is top of artwork) and should not include text info or borders that are not part of the actual work.

Notification of Acceptance:
Artists will be informed of their acceptance into the Alumni Gallery no later than October 30, 2015
Opening Reception: Wednesday, December 2, 2015, 5:30-7:30 p.m., PAFA Alumni Gallery, Historic Landmark Building, 118 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102
Insurance: The Academy will insure the artwork while it is in our possession for 60% of the retail value of the work.

Deadline for DVD Entry: Received by PAFA by 10/23/15

Notification: By 10/29-10/30/2015

Delivery of artwork: 11/19-11/20/2015

Opening Reception: 12/2/15

Exhibition Dates: 12/3/2015- 2/7/2016

Pick-Up Artwork and shipping Dates: 2/8/2016-2/10/16
Note: Work that is not picked up by February 12,2016 will become the property of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. If an individual other than the artist is picking up artwork, this request must be made in writing prior to pick-up to the Gallery Manager, Tish Ingersoll.

Delivery and Return of Work: All work accepted for the exhibition must arrive ready to install. Works not gallery-ready, or not exhibiting good craftsmanship, may be omitted from the exhibit. Accepted work that is not properly framed will not be exhibited. Please note that professional-level presentation is a must. Work may be hand delivered or shipped. Shipped works must be sent in an easily reusable container/packaging with return shipping prepaid. Works will be returned in the same manner as delivered or via UPS/USPS. All work must arrive at PAFA by the specified date (see calendar above). Accepted work will remain on display for the duration of the exhibition. Works not claimed within 10 days of the end of the exhibit will become the property of PAFA.
