Deadline October 1: The ReadingFilmFEST (RFF) presents the first ever “Art of Film,” a fine art
exhibition featuring regional artists designed to highlight the theme of “FILM,” create
awareness of the revamped film festival, and engage the community in the event.
The opening of the exhibit will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at the LouisLong Gallery
Above Penn Square from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with an awards ceremony scheduled for 6:45
p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public and runs from October 15 – November 30, 2015.
“The Art of Film” is a juried competition featuring professional artists and Berks County college
students. Jurors are local art aficionado Robert P. Metzger, Ph.D., and Lauralynn White, Gallery
Director of the GoggleWorks. Cash prizes totaling $2000 will be presented to winning artists.
Susan Biebuyck, Gallery Director of Studio B in Boyertown, PA, is the curator for the show. “We
are excited to bring this new theme to our fine arts community and support our local film
industry,” Biebuyck offered. “We’re always looking for new ways to express ourselves, and
themed exhibits provide a great prompt for ideas. I am sure our artists will shine in this
exhibition,” she continued.
