InLiquid and Rowan University Art Gallery are announcing a Request for Qualifications for a tech-based visiting artist project at Rowan University VR Lab. Artists and artist teams are asked to submit qualifications and preliminary ideas for an immersive art installation using the Rowan Virtual Reality Lab’s CAVE(TM) at Rowan University. The opening of the installation will coincide with Philly Tech Week 2015.
The project is open to all artists, programmers, designers, and creative teams. The selection process will be based on the strength and merit of the proposal as well as experience and ability. Artists/Creative teams should have prior experience and/or working knowledge in the following areas of media production techniques and software experience or a combination thereof: 3D Modeling and Animation Production Software (i.e. Autodesk Suite, Cinema 4D, Blender, etc.), Chromadepth 3D conversions of images/animations and/or experience working with interactive game engine platforms: Unity 3D, UDK – Unreal.
An artist or creative team will be selected to create an art installation using the Rowan Virtual Reality Lab’s CAVE(TM) at Rowan University’s VR Lab. The artist will have access to the technical resources of the Lab with some technical assistance from VR staff and faculty in the Department of Art. The project will culminate in an exhibition using the system. It will be featured as a program during Philly Tech Week, and will be featured in satellite venues in Philadelphia during Philly Tech Week events.
