Deadline March 31:
Harcum College is pleased to announce its benefit exhibition “Bears & Squares”—in honor of this once-in-a-lifetime 100th anniversary celebration. Artists have been selected to create works of art using one or two 10-inch square canvases. With over 200 works by alumni, current students, local artists, community members, and organizations; this community art project is seeking additional artists to participate in creating works of art using a blank 12″ tall plaster bear (provided) commissioned by the Centennial oversight committee.
One 12” plaster bear is provided. All other materials are provided by the artist. A limited number of 10-inch squares are also available and will be provided while supplies last.
Artists interested in participating should submit example of your personal work for consideration to Gale Martin at firstname.lastname@example.org by March 31, 2015. Bears and/or squares must be completed by June 30.
A Preview Party has been slated for September 10, 2017. Participating artists are invited to attend this event for fun, networking, and recognition.
All bears/squares are for sale. Proceeds benefit the Harcum College Centennial Scholarship Fund. Artists may receive 20 percent from the sale of their work or opt to donate all proceeds in honor of their Centennial. Select bears/squares will go on to be showcased at our Centennial Gala in October.
