Join park volunteers all over Philadelphia to celebrate Love Your Park Fall Service Day on Saturday, November 15. Organized by the Fairmount Park Conservancy and the Philadelphia Department of Parks & Recreation in collaboration with volunteers all over the city, the Love Your Park Fall Service Day is a wonderful opportunity to meet neighbors, spend some time outdoors, and prepare a local park for the coming winter. Activities include sweeping, raking leaves, and planting trees and bulbs. All of the leaves collected will be gathered and taken to the city Recycling Center to be turned into mulch and compost for the spring.
More than 70 parks are participating in the Love Your Park Service Day, including Wissinoming Park, Cedar Park, Carroll Park, and Starr Garden. To find out what local volunteers have planned for the parks nearest your home, visit: www.loveyourpark.org/volunteer.
