Artist's Biography
Patrick Cabry is an American mixed-media artist that creates cross-disciplinary works that converge on art and environmental science in sustainability. Cabry received a BFA with a minor in Art History from West Chester University in 2014. In 2017, he graduated with an MFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where his work took a dramatic shift toward new media and horticultural experimentation. Cabry has permanent installations and mixed-media works in numerous public and private collections throughout the greater Philadelphia area and along the East coast. Currently, he is in his third year as an adjunct instructor of the arts at Rutgers University: Camden.
Artist's Statement
My goal is to cross disciplines and create work that continues to spark a dialogue surrounding environmental solutions. By drawing attention to areas that are directly within our grasp, I seek to spread the message of social and environmental change toward direct activism to help reduce our daily carbon footprint.
From science, innovation, and horticulture to more traditional media, I seek to continue challenging a viewer’s perception of what art can be, as well as what art can become in the future. My work is infinitely a contemporary alchemical process of experimentation and examination of the intersection of natural and artificial urworlds.
