“I don’t know a better definition of an artist than one who is eternally curious. Every successful canvas has been painted from the point of view of a student, for a great painter is always a student.” -Charles Hawthorne.
In the manner of tiny paintings as portable, personal devotional objects, I see my paintings as private delights for intimate domestic spaces. In the quiet creation of a painting, I am absorbed by the challenge of observing light and shadow, the effect of one color upon another, the relationship of shapes, my experience of that.
