Idalia Vasquezisa Colombian born, Philadelphia-based photographer. She studied graphic design in Bogota and worked in advertising in Bogota and Quito, Ecuador, before moving to the U.S. In the U.S. She worked as photo assistance before deciding to study photography at the College for Creative Studies, Detroit, MI. Artist's Statement

"Many migrants exist in a liminal or 'ThirdSpace' between cultures and nationalities, physical locations and imagined or represented spaces." (E ). In this context, migrants construct a sense of place, home, and identity. My current work explores this space as an active place of translation, transmission, and performance. I often combine factual and fictional re-imagination of the experience to portrait the sentiments of in-betweenness, visibility and invisibility, presence and absence, remembering and forgetting between here and there.
