R. William Waite
Waite’s photographs are in many ways an exploration of the ordinary. The images point to the intrinsic narrative that takes place around us, pulling us into the story mid-stream; there we find an air of recognition but also something utterly foreign. Waite, whose beginnings were as a painter and installation artist, has always used photography as a sort of sketchbook; however, in recent years the photographs have taken a central role in his work. Waite studied fine art at SVA in New York and lives and works in the East Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia.
