Artist's Statement

The most important part of my process is a level of openness that stops my intentions from getting in the way. Meaning that the subconscious need being fulfilled in each work is not clouded by my own needs for it.

I do my best not to steer the direction of my creation, but instead to follow its lead. This process creates a tension for me between formal issues and archetypal symbols.

I like to observe patterns develop and ultimately break. I am drawn to strategy and tactics, but am curious when they fail.

Each creation of mine is a cyclical evolution of thesis, antithesis, synthesis, and repeat.
