What Does Philly Sound Like?

Find out on July 1. Join Mural Arts for a first look at Monument Lab, featuring a sneak preview of Philadelphia artist Kara Crombie‘s monument, Sample Philly: an interactive sculpture with a sound bank of musical loops drawn from Philadelphia’s rich musical history. Enjoy live music from DJ Royale, Girls Rock Philly, Rock to the Future, and youth band DSG; sample free summertime refreshments; and chat one-on-one with the artists and curators!

Monument Lab is a public art and history project produced by Mural Arts Philadelphia and curators Paul Farber and Ken Lum that invites people to join a citywide conversation about history, memory, and our collective future. Visit the Monument Lab website for more information about each artist, and to stay up to date as the project develops—and follow along on social media at #monumentlab.
