Come honor the experiences and actions of the Nicetown/Tioga community at the dedication of the public memorial entitled “Memorial to loss: Freedom in a Carceral State.” This Memorial will be dedicated to the local community who have experienced deep, extensive and sustained loss due to mass incarceration and their commitment to hope and transformation.

Day of event to include:
– Walking of the Labyrinth, a memorial to those lost in the system of mass incarceration
– AEA membership sign up and orientation
– A skit by Mona Washington
– Expungement services by PLSE (Philadelphia Lawyers for Social Equity)
– Memorial seed planting
– An opportunity to discuss the impacts of mass incarceration on our community and what we can do to support each other
-Lite programming beginning at noon
