ALL-DAY DRAWING MARATHON AT THE PLASTIC CLUB
SUNDAY, APRIL 23, 10AM-10PM
Artists of all skill levels will get the chance to practice their craft at the Plastic Club’s annual Drawing Marathon on Sunday, April 23. The historic art club will open up its studios, hire models, and set up still lifes for a full day of sketching and drawing, from 10 AM to 10 PM.
Separate programs will be offered for Life Drawing, Portrait Drawing & Painting, Short Poses (also known as “Croquis”), and Still Life compositions. (Croquis are “quick and sketchy drawings of a live model… usually made in a few minutes, after which the model changes pose or leaves and another croquis is drawn.”)
The one-time entrance fee is $15 (cash only). Participants can leave the Club and return. Lunch and dinner will be available for a contribution.
All proceeds will go to Sunshine Arts, an artist-in-residence outreach program encouraging neighborhood kids to learn the wonderful worlds of dance, literature, music, and art
The Plastic Club, located on Philadelphia’s quaint, historic Camac Street, was founded in 1897 to promote the visual (“plastic”) arts.
