Art Jewelry: The Marriage of Metal Clay and Earth @ CCA

October 23, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Event Navigation

Sundays, October 16 + October 23 | 12 – 3 PM
Tuition: $105 Plus $20 Materials Fee (6 grams of PMC) paid at registration

Students will decorate their hand made clay art jewelry. After the clay is designed, scratched, textured/stamped, and glazed, we will add precious metal clay to your low fired, white clay art jewelry. Finally, we will create, decorate, and sinter unique small pieces of PMC to add luster and sparkle. All cords, silk ribbons, and hanging choices are individual student purchases. The pieces will be fired in an electric kiln and will be ready to take home a few days after the workshop. Instructor will call students to pick up pieces at the Art Center.

Instructor: Bea Behar
Bea has received her Rio Certification in 2006 from Chris Darway at University of the Arts and continued to be re-certified this past Spring in Precious Metal Clay. She continues to refine her skillsby taking additional classes on repouse/PMC with Holly Gage and enameling on silver and copper with Linda Darty. When she is not teaching, she sells her one of kind pieces at craft shows and to private customers.
