Nancy Margolis Gallery is pleased to announce an Artist Talk by Aubrey Levinthal on Saturday, October 7 at 2pm. The talk will take place in the gallery. Levinthal will discuss her process and inspirations and will answer questions from the audience.
Aubrey Levinthal is a still life and figurative painter living and working in Philadelphia. At a glance, Aubrey Levinthal’s paintings appear to be simple translations of the everyday moments we all experience in the course of our daily lives. These brief moments, whether ephemeral or banal, are applauded and elevated by the artist. Levinthal understands that the commonplace has its own beauty, and no matter how inconsequential, it is embraced in the paintings and remains important. Each of Levinthal’s paintings articulates one of these moments, providing her a rich trove of material to extract from her own life. Levinthal unveils her own emotions through her compositions, allowing us to view the world from her vantage point, as well as from her own.
