InLiquid and Park Towne Place Museum District Residences are excited to welcome multimedia artists Diane Marimow and Shelley Spector, on Thursday March 15th, from 6-8pm, as they share a visual history of their careers and creative practices. Marimow and Spector each have works in Park Towne’s permanent collection. A conversation with guests will follow their presentations. Refreshments will be served to start the evening, with the talks to follow at 6:30. It will all take place in Park Towne’s Oar Pub, South Tower.
Diane Marimow’s ceramic work is in Park Towne’s permanent collection in the North Tower, and was a featured artist in the Constructing Organics exhibition in 2017. She is currently an Associate Artist at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, as well as an educator at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. She received a graduate degree in Art from Tyler School of Art and taught art to children and young adults in public and independent schools on the East Coast for more than 30 years. Diane has exhibited her ceramic sculptures and wall pieces in galleries in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Arizona. Her sculptures reside in private collections throughout the U.S.
Shelley Spector’s wood based sculpture is installed in Park Towne’s East Tower. She is a multidisciplinary artist based in Philadelphia. Spector builds works that use personal objects, experiences and ideas in search of communal identity. Her work is part of many public and private collections including The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and the Human Rights Campaign in Washington, DC. Spector has received grants from the Independence Foundation Fellowship in the Arts, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and Leeway Foundation.
