Bethel Burying Ground Memorial: Public Art and Site Design for an Untold History

Come learn about the Bethel Burying Ground’s site’s complex and largely unknown history. Meet other artists and design professionals (i.e. public artists, architects, landscape architects, etc.) to discuss the unique challenges and opportunities in developing public art and site design around a history punctuated by firsts, loss, and stewardship, as well as:

  • Learn about the Bethel Burying Ground and its role in Philadelphia’s history
  • Hear about the City of Philadelphia’s plan to develop a meaningful memorial that reveals this vital story and celebrates those laid to rest there
  • Meet other creative professionals and begin thinking about the design team needed to apply

The event will take place on Wednesday, October 2 from 6 – 8pm at Mother Bethel A.M.E. Church.
