Join Spaces Corners at their home location in Troy Hill on Saturday, September 2 with the launch of Where the Land Gives Way, a new photo zine by Pittsburgh-based photographer Jake Reinhart.
Where The Land Gives Way takes the reader on a journey through rustbelt, Appalachian terrain. Combining portraiture and landscape, Reinhart photographs a region that has been defined by the influence of nostalgia. The gnarled scenery serves as a metaphor for the shifting state of memory. The people stand as a reminder of the ability to adapt to life in a region where reoccurring growth and collapse shapes not only the physical but also the psychological condition.
Spaces Corners will also be hosting a small exhibition of prints from Reinhart’s project in their Troy Hill shop and the publisher, Deadbeat Club, is coming all the way from The Golden State to share a selection of their small run publications.
