MULTI-LAYERED PRINTMAKING starting September 25, 2018- November 13, 2018

Tuesdays, 6:30-9:30pm
Tuition: $240 (Members: $225)

Create richly layered prints by combining traditional and contemporary relief, intaglio, planographic and stencil printmaking techniques. Integrate and experiment with a variety of non-toxic processes. Possibilities include: woodcut/linocut, drypoint, etching, screenprint, pochoir, monotype, polyester/paper plate lithography, silk aquatint, photo transfer and rust printing. Build complexity in your prints through layering and collaging. Explore the technical and expressive possibilities of multi-layered printmaking. All levels welcome.


NON-TOXIC PRINTMAKING II starting September 27 – November 15
Thursdays, 7:30-10:30pm
Tuition: $240 (Members: $225)

Build on your experience in printmaking and push the medium’s capabilities. Discover how the wide variety of print media available is relevant to your artwork. Tackle several approaches to non-toxic printmaking including embossing, relief, intaglio, planographic, contact and screen printing processes using safe-wash and water-based inks. Instructor offers critiques, instruction and demonstrations to help you achieve your project goals. All levels welcome.

INTRO TO SOLARPLATE ETCHING on Sunday, November 11, 2018
10am – 4:30pm
Tuition: $90 Addiional material fee of $30 (paid to the instructor) for Solarplate, Solarplate test strips, Pictorico transparency film and printmaking paper

Tackle several approaches to this non-toxic printmaking technique in a one-day introductory workshop! Solarplate etching is easy to learn and produces exciting results. Solarplates are eco-friendly, light sensitized, steel-backed polymer. They enable participants to reproduce photgraphic renderings or drawing through the use of a transparency, UV light and water. Whether a printmaker, painter, mixed-media or photo artist, all art makers will enjoy this process. The workshop culminates in pulling and edition of prints from an etching press. No experience necessary. Registration ends October 29. Participants must send a black and white, 300 PPI , JPEG photo or artwork image to instructor at by Sunday November 4th.
