In conjunction with their richly comprehensive group exhibition, Grand Vocabulary: Contemporary American Illustration, The Delaware Contemporary is pleased to present an opportunity to hear artist Alexi Natchev discuss the breadth of work and styles encompassing his brilliant 30+ year career here and in Bulgaria. Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, Natchev works in printmaking, drawing, and children’s book illustration. Since moving to the U.S. in 1990, he has published more than 15 children’s books with major American publishers. His work is on display at the National Art Gallery in Sofia and The Rare Book Collection at the Princeton Library. He is the Professor and Area Coordinator of Illustration at Delaware College of Art and Design (DCAD). |
