Costume Jewelry
from the collection of
Connie Kay and Judie Simkins
For 26 years, Connie Kay and Judie Simkins have been collecting classic costume jewelry. Inspired by a teacher who “educated their fingertips” to recognize quality, the pair have been offering their wares at exclusive trunk shows and pop up shops up and down the east coast, from Pennsylvania to Palm Beach.
Connie and Judie collect pieces by the finest designers of costume jewelry, including Chanel, Schiaparelli, and Schreiner. Working in the 1920s, Coco Chanel was the first great designer and proponent of costume jewelry. Famously flamboyant, Elsa Schiaparelli lends her name to a long line of American-made costume jewelry. The Schreiner Company, founded in 1951, is known for its “upside down” rhinestone settings and vivid colors. Connie and Judie have pieces by these designers and many others!
Event presented by the Philadelphia Art Alliance.
