InLiquid Artist member Elisabeth Nickles will be giving a talk at 20*20 House gallery about her show, Works from Nepal on Saturday, October 22. Maureen Drdak, president of the Fellowship, at the Philadelphia Academy of the Fine Arts, and who sponsored Elisabeth’s recent residency in Nepal, will speak as well.
Elisabeth Nickles is mixed media sculptor from Philadelphia. She recently returned from an artist residency at the Kathmandu Contemporary Arts Centre at the Patan Museum, in Nepal.
Nickles travelled and worked in Nepal for two months, using traditional materials for a new body of work addressing environmental, spiritual and social concerns. Process: Work from Nepal is an exhibition focused on Nickles’ experience in Nepal and translating that experience into multi-dimensional art works. Included in the exhibition are examples of a variety of physical processes used in making sculpture, as well as writing and photos about the work.
