3rd Street Gallery, an artist-run collective since 1972, hosts its first community art show Embodiment: Figure in Art in its’ new Queen Village/Head House Square space beginning Friday, January 24 and lasting through Sunday, March 22. A collection of works from local artists sharing their renderings of the figural form and perspectives on the human condition fill the gallery walls. Expressed through a wide variety of media, styles, and concepts, this eclectic grouping of contemporary artworks reveals the significance of one of the longest standing traditions in art; the figure as muse.
