For the month of August “Flora & Fauna” is on view at the Black Moth Gallery,  featuring works by Julia Johnson. Johnson’s sculptural paper works are elegant, organic forms that are hand cut, heated, painted, and precisely placed. She describes the process as “I explore organic forms with unnatural material. The pieces are made with synthetic paper, manipulated into hardened, bony forms. I create the abstracted forms to juxtapose the unique properties of synthetic paper with the organic subject matter.” You will not want to miss out on experiencing these one of a kind works in person.
