October 1 – 2 | 10 AM – 5 PM
This year’s arts festival READING will feature handcrafted work by almost 100 high-caliber artists and craftspeople from around the country. Find all sorts of unique gifts for the upcoming holiday season or add to your personal collection. Browse through artists’ booths as well as over 30 GoggleWorks artists’ studios. One-of-a-kind art by all participating artists will be available for purchase; including ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, mixed media, photography, and painting, and sculpture.
Attendees can see the skills and techniques used in contemporary arts and craft. Live demonstrations will be offered daily in various locations on GoggleWorks’ campus; including lampworking, raku, glassblowing, marquetry, metalsmithing, jewelry, oil painting, watercolor, smocking, sewing, fused glass, and wheelthrowing.
Art Meets Décor
Wondering how to use handmade elements to bring personality, uniqueness, and warmth to your interiors? Get inspiration from “Art Meets Décor”–designer vignettes curated to showcase four local interior designers’ talents while highlighting artwork, furniture, and accessories created by arts festival READING 2016 artists. Each designer will be on hand to discuss their vignettes and answer questions about their services.
GoggleWorks thanks Reading Musical Foundation for supporting arts festival READING by providing student and professional musicians from both the Reading Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Reading Symphony Orchestra. The Youth Orchestra Wind Trio and String Quartet will be performing twice daily; as well as other musicians throughout the building.
Food & Drink
Local restaurants, Judy’s on Cherry and Mi Casa, Su Casa will provide a wide range of portable food options for attendees to enjoy. We also welcome West Reading’s Sweet Ride Ice Cream, who will offer signature flavors in our courtyard. Enjoy wine and beer out on the Terrace Bar and Coffee Bar provided by Ebru Coffee Co. Complimentary wine sampling will be offered daily in the afternoons.
