On View: January 5, 2017 – March 26, 2017
Children’s health education matters. Early experiences shape children’s lifelong habits. Understanding exercise options, food choices, and well-being metrics are crucial to promoting healthy tomorrows for children. Created by Stepping Stones Museum for Children, the Healthyville® mini exhibit delivers important health and wellness lessons to children and families in a fun, play-based manner. The Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) complements the exhibit with dynamic programs and bi-lingual learning. MOCA is excited to bring the Healthyville® mini exhibit to New York City from January 5, 2017 through March 26, 2017.
Inspired by the museum’s award-winning, nationally touring exhibit with the same name, the mini version of Healthyville® is designed to teach students in kindergarten through fifth grade about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. The traveling exhibit includes portable, interactive displays, impactful messaging and playful activities that foster learning by doing. The Healthyville® mini exhibit presents fun, yet engaging educational lessons in nutrition, safety, fitness, and hygiene. The mini exhibit features more than 15 hands-on activities and program ideas and offers direct connections to the elementary school curriculum.
