September 7, 2018 - January 6, 2019

Event Navigation

September 7, 2018–January 6, 2019, Special Exhibitions Gallery, Harvard Art Museums

Opening September 7, our special exhibition Animal-Shaped Vessels from the Ancient World: Feasting with Gods, Heroes, and Kings presents a stunning range of elaborate animal-shaped vessels that span continents and millennia.

In our University Galleries, visitors will have the chance to see compelling (and surprisingly relevant) works by the Romantic period’s most influential artist, Théodore Géricault, in Mutiny: Works by Géricault. Another installation focuses on how various artists—Dürer, Rembrandt, Blake, Munch, and Beckmann, among others—have treated the subject of Adam and Eve.
