In this exhibition, artists reflect upon Israel as a nexus of world-wide Jewish culture. As if in conversation with the painters, sculptors, fabric artists, printmakers, and photographers, etc., of the formative years of the State of Israel, these 2018 artists provide a new context from which to explore Israel 70. The exhibition will consist of work by noted Philadelphia artists and will also include works from the Temple Judea Museum’s Contemporary Israel Art Collection.
This exhibition also features the photography of InLiquid’s executive director, Rachel Zimmerman.
On Friday, April 13th the exhibition opening will be coordinated with Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel’s annual Israel Shabbat service that evening, during which artist Cheryl Harper will speak. Cheryl is an award-winning curator with a committed and sustained record of showcasing leading contemporary Israeli artists during an almost 40-year engagement with the arts of contemporary Israel. The exhibition will continue through the end of June 2018.
