MARYLYN DINTENFASS Ocular. Echo
Opening Reception, Saturday, May 27, from 4 – 6 pm
Garrison Art Center
23 Garrison’s Landing, P.O. Box 4, Garrison, NY
This contemporary painting exhibition is comprised of a selection of the artist’s work from 2010 – 2016, all of which depict the circle. This motif has always played a key role in Dintenfass’ oeuvre and the work in this exhibition will strike viewers with their lush, dense and highly saturated surfaces. It is an exciting and important opportunity for us to be exhibiting Dintenfass’ paintings, which serve as a lens for the artist to explore both the emotional and psychological engagement with the natural world. The exhibition will run from May 27 through June 18, 2017.
Dintenfass’ work has been widely reviewed by Artinfo, ARTNews, Huffington Post and her 2011 and 2012 Babcock Galleries exhibitions were both selected as one of the year’s top 100 shows by Modern Painters Magazine.
We are honored to be exhibiting such a highly acclaimed artist and are also grateful to both Marylyn Dintenfass and her husband John Driscoll, who were among the founding members of our Leadership Circle in 2011, which allowed the Art Center to launch new initiatives in gallery programming in addition to making improvements within the gallery space.
