In this evening workshop, students will learn fundamental metalsmithing techniques to help begin their journey of metalsmithing and creating bench fabricated jewelry! Local jeweler, Jessica Keemer, will show students ways to transform sheet metal through sawing and piercing designs, forming with daps and mandrels, and adding pattern through roll printing.
Tools and machinery used will include jewelers saw frame, Durston Rolling mill, metal daps, metalsmithing hammers, bracelet and ring mandrels, jewelers files, and a Foredom flex shaft.
Copper sheet metal will be provided for test projects and sterling silver sheet for one final project.
