Artist Shwarga Bhattacharjee’s show will featured a selection of imposing, mythical and textural paintings from the series of“Myth, Metaphor and Lack of Understanding”. His work has primarily concerned with cultural fusion, abstraction of language and politics of power. In this series he is continuously driven to explore the relationship between mythology and contemporary life and use his practice to further reinterpret Indian mythology, at times even creating his own personal mythology through his works. It’s more like intentionally cultivate the power of mythology that relates one life to another, one culture to another and even past to present.

Shwarga Bhattacharjee was born in 1987, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He received his BFA from Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka. He was awarded “Student Art Residency” on Nepal, 2011 by Britto Art Trust. Next year he was selected as a young talent on “Dhaka Art Summit” by Samdani Art Foundation, 2012. Currently he is doing his MFA at Tyler School of Art where he receive the Project Compilation Grant, 2018.
