The Noyes Associate Artist Members Exhibition: 2019 showcases the work of six artists creating outstanding artwork throughout the state. Works in mixed media, painting, photography, and sculpture are featured. This annual exhibition continues the tradition of celebrating recent work from New Jersey artists, all selected by jury to be a part of the prestigious Associate Artist Member’s group. Highlights include Bill Parker’s Sunrise on the Inbound Board, as he offers us the delight of a vibrant southern New Jersey marsh landscape, complete with billboard, skillfully capturing the light in this pastel painting. Sculpted pieces by t.a. hahn, such as Ring-Billed Gull on LBI, reveal his love for the harmony of nature. His combination of carved woods, including local cedar and exotic koa, and abstract oil painting, offer the essence of wild birds in the forest. Dennis Loughlin’s use of bold graphic contrast in his photographs, such as in Rhythmic Flow, presents us with surprises found in unique and even well-known places. In Gaze, a portrait by Susan Pasqualicchio, bold brushstrokes capture a vivid and playful view of life in close-up. In the painting, Fenced In by Valeria Marcus, bright, abstract shapes in cool and warm pigments play off of each other, filling the canvas with captivating patterns. Phyllis Anderson’s lively environments are charged with the energy of fluid, impasto strokes of paint, offering the essence of nature on the verge such as in View from Black Bear Pass. of abstraction.
