Da Vinci Art Alliance, located at 704 Catharine Street, will present OPEN LENS III: URBAN VISIONS from February 1st – February 22nd. Gallery hours are Wednesday 6pm – 8pm and Saturday + Sunday 1pm – 5pm.
Davinci Art Alliance is excited to announce the third edition of one of their most popular annual exhibitions, Open Lens. This year will feature traditional film and digital photographic works being juried by Philadelphia-based photographer and educator Howard Brunner. Artists are invited to submit work in response to this year’s theme Urban Visions. This is work that shows a unique vision to living or experiencing the city of Philadelphia. Interpretations of the theme could be mystical, abstract, personal, literal, or in protest. One’s personal “vision” could reject conventional “urbanity”, it could attempt to redefine or illustrate it, or can show the personal or communal aspects of the city.
ABOUT THE JUROR: Philadelphia-based Photographer and educator Howard Brunner received a BFA in graphic design, Philadelphia College of Art and an MFA in photography from the University of Delaware. Brunner is currently teaching at Tyler School of Art and has a long history of teaching at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. Brunner is represented in the collections of; The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The James A. Michener Museum of Art, and the Allentown Museum of Art.
