Philadelphia TriState Artists Equity is celebrating its 70th anniversary with a large spring juried exhibit at the Irvin and Lois E. Cohen Galleries at Goggleworks Center for the Arts. The artwork submitted by the members of Artists Equity, includes paintings, collage, mixed media, ceramics, and photography, juried by Neysa Grassi.
All are welcome to attend the opening reception on March 15, 5:30 – 7:30pm, sponsored by Pathstones by Phoebe, where you can celebrate with the artists, view the artwork for the first time, and join in the celebration. Prizes include cash awards, as well as a solo show, that will be announced at the opening reception.
Approximately 70 artworks selected from work submitted by members of Artists Equity is included in the exhibition. Members include professional artists whose work is shown in museums, galleries and juried shows in the Philadelphia area. The exhibition chairs of the 70th anniversary Spring Exhibit are J. Rossi and Bill Timmins, members of the Board of the organization.
The juror, Neysa Grassi is a faculty critic in the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts’ Post Baccalaureate and MFA programs. A graduate of PAFA’s Certificate program, she has won numerous awards, including a Pew Fellowship in the Arts, a Works on Paper Fellowship from the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in Ireland and a Residency Award from the Fundación Valparaíso in Mojácar, Spain. Grassi is currently represented by Locks Gallery in Philadelphia, where she has had numerous solo exhibitions. Her work is represented in collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State University and Blue Cross of Pennsylvania.
