Opening this Saturday, Perkins Center for the Arts presents its Photography 37 Winners Exhibition, including new work by three local photographers. On display are collections by exhibition award winners John Clarke of Pennington, NJ, Annarita Gentile of Philadelphia, PA and Aubrey J. Kauffman of Ewing, NJ.
“As a photographer, I aim to reflect the world around me as I experience it,” explains Annarita Gentile. “That is saying a lot, to try to show in an image a personal experience. Some of this aim is accomplished through composition and editing as a result of an individual process and a lot of luck.”
Art collectors and the public are invited to attend an opening reception Saturday, March 9th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Collingswood campus. The gallery is also open regularly, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10:00am – 2:00pm, or by appointment.
The exhibition runs March 9 – April 13, 2019 at the Perkins Center for the Arts, 30 Irvin Ave. in Collingswood, New Jersey.
The Perkins Center for the Arts was founded in 1977; campuses include the historic 1910 Tudor headquarters and adjacent arboretum in Moorestown, Burlington County, as well as an art center housed in a former printing press in Collingswood, Camden County. The Light Room, founded in 2000, is an artist-run non-profit photographic arts collective in Philadelphia. Our goal is to foster an environment in which members can achieve their photographic objectives through the use of modern, professional darkroom and studio facilities, ongoing education, and the sharing of ideas.
