Before there was The Village, there was The Ile Ife Black Humanitarian Center, a creative community founded by visionary artist Arthur Hall.
As her 30th anniversary gift to The Village, Lily Yeh has created The Village’s first new mural in a decade. The vibrant, otherworldly piece is steeped in Yoruba symbolism and features Arthur Hall and the Orisha Obatala. Fittingly, it also revives Ile Ife member and world-renowned artist Barbara Bullock’s image of “Tree Goddess.”
Next Sunday, join th emfor music, food, joyful conversation, and unscripted testimonials that honor the Orisha Obatala, Arthur Hall, and all members of Ile Ife Black Humanitarian Center.
Rain or shine – Everyone us welcome!
Arrive at 2544 Germantown Ave. and follow signs to the mural location.
