Instructor: Ashley Limés Castellana

Suminagashi is the Japanese art of paper marbling by floating sumi ink on the surface of water. In this 3 hour intensive students learn about the basics of this centuries-old monoprint technique, including which tools and materials it requires. Students will come away with 8 sheets of marbled paper and two cotton 22” x 22” handkerchiefs of their own design. This unique method of marbling is perfect for any water loving paper or natural fabric based projects and can easily be incorporated as another layer on your existing prints and artwork! All materials are provided by SSP.
