The New Jersey Photography Forum will exhibit The Classic Image, a series of 30 photographs made by 10 Forum members. Their challenge was to create classic-looking color photographs with a soft painterly feeling that people would have hung on their walls in the period from 1900 to 1950. The images selected emphasize the beauty of the subject with a classic composition embodying a nod to idealism rather than an everyday photograph.
The exhibiting photographers are: Jamin Chen, Montville; Ken Curtis, Hunterdon County, NJ; Thomas Dackow, Summit, NJ; Jerry Dalia, Rockaway, NJ; Ralph Greene, Woodland Park, NJ; Theresa Hood, Hamilton Township, PA; Dorothy Kuehn, Maplewood, NJ; Parvathi Kumar, Bridgewater, NJ; Nancy Ori, Berkeley Heights, NJ and Heidi Sussman, West Orange, NJ.
The show’s curator, Ken Curtis says, “The photographers did a wonderful job of choosing photographs that fit the theme and are truly nostalgic works of art which the rehabilitation center’s residents and guests can appreciate.”
The show is open to the public, free of charge, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm daily.
