Art historian and curator Susanna W. Gold, Ph.D., is pleased to announce the upcoming contemporary art exhibition, “The Inherent Geometric,” at the Eadeh Silo in Devon, PA.
The exhibition features over 40 paintings and sculptures by four recent MFA graduates from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts: Mark Basco, Phyllis Gorsen, Sean Hildreth, and Jillian Schley. The exhibition opens on Saturday, December 2, 2017, with a reception from 6:00-8:00pm in the Eadeh Silo, 105 W. Lancaster Avenue, Devon, PA. It remains on view until Saturday, December 23, 2017. Hours are Wednesday-Saturday, 12:00-5:00pm, and by appointment. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
“The Inherent Geometric” brings together four very different styles of contemporary art that share geometry as its common organizational framework. Examples of realism, abstraction, conceptual art, and imagery combining these approaches all demonstrate similar underlying properties of balance, symmetry, and repetition.
