The Noyes Museum Gallery at the Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City is celebrating four new artists’ exhibitions with an opening reception. The featured exhibitions are: Steve Freeman: Photography; Janet Boltax: A Life in Transition; Rae Smith; and Laura Bethmann, all on view from September 6 – December 2, 2018. The works include photography, portrait paintings, pastels and watercolors with nature printing.
STEVE FREEMAN: Photography – Featuring compelling images from local photographer Steve Freeman, this exhibition is a survey of his travels around the world to places including Tanzania and Indonesia.
JANET BOLTAX: A LIFE IN TRANSITION – The Noyes presents a series of portraits from artist Janet Boltax depicting the gender transition of two individuals over an approximately two and a half year period.
RAE SMITH – Smith was elected Master Pastelist by The Pastel Society of America in 1997 and was their 2014 Hall of Fame Honoree. She has exhibited her exquisite pastel and oil paintings throughout the United States, as well as internationally.
LAURA BETHMANN – Featuring nature printing with watercolors by artist, author, workshop leader, and gardener Laura Bethmann, these mixed media paintings or “direct impressions of life”, as she calls them, offer beautiful still lifes and colorful garden scenes using the ancient technique of nature printing.
